Spinner Ajaz Patel has been named in Test cricket for taking 10 wickets in an innings.

He has returned to New Zealand's central contract.

And for the first time, Michael Bracewell has taken the place. However, Jimmy Nisham has been left out.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has released a list of 20 central contracts for the 2022-23 season. Ajaz has got a place in this list again. The spinner took 10 wickets in an innings against India in Mumbai in December 2021. He has built such a reputation as the third bowler in the world.

Meanwhile, Nisham has lost his place in the central contract. He last played Test in 2016. Despite playing only 9 T20s in the last 12 months, his performance was not as expected. The Kiwi all-rounder took just 92 runs at 135 strike rate and took 3 wickets with the ball.
