The Prime Minister of Pakistan called himself 'Majnu'

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif addressed the court as Majnu. On Saturday (May 26), the Prime Minister of Pakistan went to testify in a special court in a case involving money laundering of Rs 1,600 crore.

Going there, the Prime Minister of Pakistan claimed that he had not received any salary while he was the Chief Minister of Punjab. To do this, he calls himself 'Majnu'. This was stated in the report of Indian media PTI.   

Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also indicted Shahbaz Sharif's two sons, Hamza Sharif and Suleiman Sharif, under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act in November 2020. Hamza Sharif is currently the Chief Minister of the Punjab province of Pakistan and Suleiman Sharif is living in the United Kingdom.

The FIA ​​investigation team identified 26 anonymous accounts. It has been alleged that Shahbaz Sharif's family smuggled Rs 1,600 crore from 2008 to 2016 through these accounts.  

During the hearing, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said, "I have not taken anything from the government in 12 and a half years." I have been charged with two and a half lakh rupees.

 He further said that Allah has made me the Prime Minister of the country. I am a Majnu and I did not receive my legal rights, my salary and benefits.

 During the previous hearing on May 21, the special court had decided to extend the interim bail of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Sharif till May 26. The court later issued an arrest warrant against Suleiman Sharif in the case.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan lost power in a no-confidence vote last month. Later, on April 11, Shahbaz Sharif, leader of the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was elected prime minister by a 164-member vote in the country's parliament. He first became the Chief Minister of Punjab in 1996. His brother Nawaz Sharif was then the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
